Does the recipient need an app to receive my contact?
No. The MV1 works instantly with any iPhone or Android with NFC enabled (most phones from 2016 onward). Your contact card appears automatically when they tap their phone to your watch—no downloads, no apps, no setup required on either end. Just tap and connect.
Is there a subscription or recurring fee?
No. The MV1 requires only a single payment. No subscriptions, no monthly fees, no hidden costs. Once commissioned, you're equipped to network for life.
Is this really limited to 100 pieces?
Yes. Once all 100 units are commissioned, production ends permanently. No second runs, no exceptions, no future availability. Each piece is individually numbered on the caseback (001–100) and recorded in our permanent archive.
What information can I share through the MV1?
You can share your name, phone number, email, company name, business logo, website, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, portfolio links, and more. Essentially any digital credential you'd include on a traditional business card—but updatable at will.
How do I update my contact information?
Text our concierge service anytime to update your details. Changes take effect within 3 minutes. The phone number is included with your watch documentation. Whether you change jobs, update your portfolio, or refine your personal brand—your watch stays current.
How close does the phone need to be for contact exchange?
2–10 millimeters. The recipient holds their phone's NFC antenna directly against your watch strap. This intentional proximity ensures information is only shared when you deliberately choose to connect—never accidentally broadcast.
Does the NFC technology require charging?
No. It's passive NFC—no battery, no charging, always active. The contactless sensors draw power from the phone performing the tap, not from your watch. The technology is perpetually ready.
Which phones are compatible?
The MV1 works with virtually any smartphone manufactured after 2016 that includes NFC capability. This covers all modern iPhones (iPhone 7 and newer) and the vast majority of Android devices. If their phone supports contactless payments, it supports the MV1.
Do I need to wind it daily?
No. Normal wear throughout the day winds the movement automatically through your natural wrist motion. If left unworn for 40+ hours, a quick 10-second manual wind restarts it. The MV1 is designed for daily wear and effortless timekeeping.
Can I swim or shower with the MV1?
The watch head is sealed to 5 ATM (50 meters) for structural integrity, but the MV1 CARDIUM is engineered as a precision heirloom—not intended for swimming or showering. The NFC-enabled straps are splash-proof for incidental contact such as handwashing. Should water exposure compromise strap functionality, our concierge team will arrange immediate replacement. We recommend removing your timepiece before any prolonged water exposure to preserve its legacy-grade craftsmanship.
Is the sapphire crystal scratch-resistant?
Yes. Sapphire crystal is virtually scratch-proof under normal wear—second only to diamond in hardness. Your watch face will maintain its clarity indefinitely.
Can I replace the leather strap?
Replacing the strap would remove the embedded NFC functionality. The contactless technology is permanently integrated into the Italian leather—strap and technology are inseparable by design. This ensures reliability and eliminates potential connection failures.
Does the automatic movement require servicing?
Not for the first several years. Automatic movements are exceptionally durable, and the MV1 should maintain accurate timekeeping for 3+ years under normal wear. When servicing eventually becomes advisable, contact our concierge service for guidance.
How does the commissioning process work after purchase?
After your order is confirmed, our concierge service will text you to collect your contact information and profile preferences. Your watch is then assembled, your data is programmed into the NFC sensors, and the piece is shipped with full insurance and signature requirement.
How long does delivery take?
Approximately 2 weeks from order confirmation. Each MV1 is individually assembled upon commission, and your contactless profile is programmed before shipping. Every delivery is fully insured and requires signature confirmation.
What happens if my NFC leather strap breaks?
Contact our concierge via The Winding Room page to request a replacement. Your new strap will be dispatched promptly and arrive ready to wear.
For The Executive tier—how does custom engraving work?
Custom engraving adds less than 3 days to production. You'll submit your engraving details (text, logo, or design) to our concierge service after purchase. We'll confirm the design will render beautifully on both the inner wristband and leather travel case before proceeding. Most customers engrave initials, a personal motto, or company insignia.
Do you ship internationally?
Currently, we ship only within the United States. International availability may expand as the collection matures.
What if I'm not satisfied with my MV1?
We offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee with white-glove resolution.
