NFC FAQ
What is NFC?
NFC, or Near Field Communication, is a short-range wireless technology that enables data exchange between devices when they are brought close together, typically a few centimeters. It's often used for contactless payments, but also for sharing information, device pairing, and more.
What can the NFC chip in the strap store?
Both straps have seamlessly embedded NFC chips that can store:
- Digital business cards
- Portfolios
- Social media links
- Calendar invites
- Websites
Simply hold an NFC-enabled smartphone near the strap to instantly share your info—no apps or subscriptions needed.
Our customer service team will program your selected link onto the NFC chip before shipping, so it’s ready to use right out of the box.
Can i update my information on my timepiece as it changes?
Yes! All updates are handled by a real person over a live call, text thread or email — never a robot or AI — to ensure your privacy is protected. Once the update is complete, your timepiece will be ready to use in about 60 seconds.
You'll find our customer service contact information on the visible NFC chip inside your welcome letter.
Do I need to charge the NFC chip?
No charging, ever. The NFC chip is passive, meaning it draws just enough energy from the phone it's interacting with. It will always work, anytime, anywhere.
Is it compatible with all smartphones?
Yes, the NFC chip works with virtually all modern smartphones—iPhone and Android alike. For iPhones, NFC reads automatically when the screen is on (iPhone XR and newer). On Android, most phones simply need the screen on and NFC enabled.
Do I need an app to use the NFC?
No app needed — ever!
The NFC chip sends a notification to the other person's phone.
When they tap the notification, it opens your selected link directly in their browser.
